Through its activities to date, the Group has created 300 jobs on the island. Additionally, through the three Nationally Significant Strategic Investments we are implementing, more than 370 direct jobs and approximately 1,000 indirect jobs are expected to be created
The majority of supplies for the Group's businesses come from local producers, supporting the local economy. Our guests have the opportunity to discover and taste local products through enchanting culinary journeys that place our Ios in a unique position on the global tourism map.
Supporting the Local Community
The Michalopoulos family and the Calilo Group have implemented corporate responsibility initiatives amounting to €1.5 million, which include a series of donations to health and safety infrastructure on the island (Health Center, Municipality, Fire Department, Police Department, Coast Guard), the archaeological site "Skarkos," the Agricultural Cooperative of Livestock Farmers, the traditional cheese dairy, among others, as well as to sports and cultural clubs.

Driven by the family’s passion for sports, Calilo Group supports the World Beach Volleyball Championship “Ios Futures” as the main sponsor. This event, which began in 2018 as a nationwide competition, is now becoming a significant annual fixture. The World Federation has included “Ios Futures” in the calendar of the World Beach Volleyball circuit. These sporting events attract over 1,000 additional visitors to the island annually. Hosting a global event on Ios highlights the island’s immense beauty on an international level and establishes it as a prime destination for quality sports tourism.
